They've got some pretty cool money in England. These are three different designs on one pound coins (including a dragon!) and a 50 pence coin celebrating the dictionary.

Wednesday night was a reception at Microsoft Research (the red building in the background). On the way back (it's still light out because it doesn't get dark until 10pm in the summers there) we passed these dancing fountains.

Saturday was a punting trip along the Cam! Punts are flat-bottomed boats that are propelled by means of someone standing on the back, and pushing with a pole. Here various PET people are using the rollers to mini-portage a punt.

All together now. I kept the hat on, and slathered on sunscreen every hour or so, so even in the 30C sun, I managed to avoid any major burnage (which is something for me!).

Len demonstrates the sport of bridge-jumping. The idea is that, when the punt approaches a bridge, someone climbs out, scrambles up and over the bridge, and jumps down into the punt as it comes out the other side. Here, Len is removing his pants trousers, in case he falls in the water (again).
