We drove around the bay to Perast, where we took this tiny boat to the "Our Lady of the Rock" artificial island. The island was constructed over the course of a century after fishermen found a painting of the Virgin Mary on a tiny outcropping of rock in 20–30 metres of water. After constructing an island for a century by dumping more rocks there (as well as captured ships laden with rocks), they spent another century constructing the church on the island.
