We spent a week in Samaná, Dominican Republic. We were mostly on the north shore of Samaná, but we took a couple of outings.

We went whale watching. It was mating season for the humpback whales. These whales feed in the north Atlantic, and breed down here in the Caribbean. It was breeding season, so there were lots of humpbacks. This is Grommet, who breached three times in front of us.

The caves had cave paintings. These ones are "only" about 500 years old. You can tell, because these newer ones feature crosses, and so post-date Columbus.
