Here are pictures from various trips I have taken to faraway (and not-so-faraway) places.

Although the national park is called Elk Island, we saw no elk. We did, however, see many, many bison.

The bison were just all over the road.

So much so, that we had to back the car out and back onto the main road.

I guess it was called "Bison Loop Road", to be fair.

A bison and a baby bison start crossing the road.

There they go, right in front of the car!

We also saw quite a few beaver lodges, but no beavers.

We did this hike, which was billed as "3 km, 1–2 hours". But the mosquitos were so thick and annoying, we basically ran the whole thing, and finished in 45 minites.

On the way back, the bison weren't literally on Bison Loop Road, so we drove it and saw some more by the roadside.

Also on Bison Loop Road: this little critter. It appears to be a Richardson's ground squirrel.
