[Up to Ian and Kat's Mardi Gras trip to New Orleans: 3-10 March, 2003 ]

In early March 2003, Kat and I went to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. It was my first time in New Orleans, and the first Mardi Gras for both of us. I also got to meet Kat's brother Ben, who lives there. We had a wonderful time, and of course took a bunch of pictures. :-)

On Friday, we went to take a swamp tour. When we got there, however, we discovered they had screwed up our reservations, and were overbooked. They apologized, and paid our way in to a nearby plantation, while we waited for the afternoon swamp tour. So it worked out fine, and the weather was even nicer in the afternoon. :-)

Later on in the tour, the gator was returned to the other guide, to be taken back where he was found. (Alligators are very territorial, so putting him in a different place would just cause him to get eaten.)
