Here are pictures from various trips I have taken to faraway (and not-so-faraway) places.

It's quite possible I'm forgetting or misspelling some of the names of the people pictured here; help me out if you can.

Some of the pictures came out a bit fuzzy because they were taken in the dark with a long exposure, and I'm still very new at this photo-taking thing.

This is Nieuwmarkt (Newmarket) Square in Amsterdam, on New Year's Eve. It was pretty much packed with people, except for where people were setting off fireworks. The building in the centre is apparently one of the oldest buildings in Amsterdam (originally one of the (walled) city's gates), and now houses a cafe and a multimedia centre.

This was the view away from Nieuwmarkt Square. It's Kloveniersburgwal, one of the many canals in Amsterdam.

After we left Newmarket Square (after midnight), we left for a party. This is a shot I took on the way, looking across a canal at the buildings on the other side. The clock tower shows the time being about 12:40 am on 1 Jan 1999.
