Pictures from Ian and Kat's Digital Camera: The basement
[Up to Renovations ]

Here are pictures of our house in Toronto, taken at various stages.

These are various renovations we did around the house.
When we bought the house, the basement was described as "partly finished". Normally, that means that part of it is finished, and part isn't. But not here. In our basement, all of it was partially finished. There was drywall up everywhere, but just a painted concrete floor, and an unfinished rough-in bathroom (plumbing, but no tile or fixtures).

It's time to do something with the basement. We cleared everything out of this half.

We stuffed it all in the other half.

We bought a 12' x 15' carpet remnant, and had the edges bound.

My parents kindly donated a sectional couch, which goes really well colour-wise with both the carpet and the floor. PK explores the couch.

The couch is organized into place, and we put in a little audio,...

The bookcases are filled (with the boxes of books we hadn't yet unpacked since moving in). We also bought some fabric to cover the ugly main water shutoff.

The stairs to the basement. We aimed to pretty these up a bit by installing a runner.

We've unrolled the runner, and are working our way down, nailing it into place.

We had to cut it a bit at the bottom, where the wall sticks out.
